Asylums is a simi valley metal band that started in early 2014 and has been moving forward day by day taking our 90s and early 2000s Nu Metal influences and mixing it with a new school metalcore feel. After about a year and a half of members coming and going we found our solid line up of the perfect members that bring something new to the table in not only the ventura county local scene but LA county as well. We have had the privilege of sharing the stage with some great acts such as escape the fate and sid wilson of slipknot and not only pulled in a good crowd but made new fans at every show. Our current line up consists of gabriel cox as lead screamer and back up cleans, JJ Colón as our lead singer, back up screamer and rhythm guitarist and founder of the band, david shin on lead guitar, james kelley on bass, and paulus kelley on drums.
Bone Maggot was formed a year ago. Mike Klein (lead guitar & vocals( was previously in Cease to Exist, Ryan Madueno (bass) Four FIngers Deep, Lance McNelly (drums) American Hoss and Jay Rivera (guitar) Death Benefit. They are currently recording their first album.
Meeting up at a friends gig in July 2013, sparked a conversation about a band that played original ass kicking music, that honestly had some fun to it. Scott and Shayne took the next 6 months putting the other pieces together and in January 2014 started rehearsals for what is now The NaVaNaX. Jerry on Lead and Rhythm Guitars, Mike (Dog Bite) Starr on Drums, Scott on Lead and Rhythm Guitars, with Shayne on Vocals and the Bass. Make the sound, that makes the next beer down taste better.
Stronger than machines
Formed in late 2012 by brothers Ethan and Seth Franklin and good friend Steven Powell, the original three piece outfit has since added guitarist Jason Frais. Combining the influences of both heavy and melodic metal with thought provoking lyrics, Stronger Than Machines has poured it's mosh pit mentality into every aspect of their music. Whether it be a blistering lead or a catchy hook, STM has kept its feet planted firmly in metal, while at the same time creating something entirely new.
